HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL bersama Littlemama
Aku telah berjanji untu siarkan interview dengan salah seorang pemenang contest Weblog Popular 1Malaysia. Littlemama pengendali blog Mombloggersplanet telah menang hadiah tertinggi sebanyak RM550 untuk contest tersebut. Mari kita sama-sama selami pengalaman, visi dan nasihat Littlemama.
1. Bila mula blogging.
Saya mula blogging sejak 2006 tapi tidak serius sebab lebih fokus membangunkan websites (guna HTML editor/upload pakai FTP). Masa tu saya ada blog peribadi yang sangat jarang di update.
Tapi sejak akhir 2007, saya mula lebih serius berblog setelah mengandung anak saya, Izzah. Masa tu kebanyakan entry saya adalah mengenai kehamilan dan risiko. Blog-blog saya yang awal adalah di Blogspot.com dan beralih ke dot.com sendiri sejak awal 2008 iaitu http://littlemamadiary.com.
Masa tu saya baru perasan rupanya ramai mak-mak yang ada blog. So, saya create http://mombloggersplanet.com untuk menyatukan mak-mak blogger se Malaysia pada akhir tahun 2008 dan launch pada January 2009. Pejam celik dah nak setahun dah MomBloggersPlanet ni.
2. Kenapa blogging.
Saya ada banyak sebab kenapa saya blogging.
1. Nak kongsi pengalaman dengan other moms
2. Nak kenal lebih ramai kawan
3. Nak buat duit banyak-banyak dengan blog ;)
3. Apa matlamat dimasa depan.
Matlamat saya ada banyak tapi yang utama adalah.
1. Menaikkan MomBloggersPlanet supaya lebih popular atau sama popular dengan blog-blog yang sedia popular (target mesti lebih..ha..ha)
2. Buat steady income melalui blog-blog supaya saya boleh resign dan buat business dari rumah (target mesti lebih dari gaji sekarang)
3. Publish ebook berkongsi pengalaman saya tentang everything blogging
4. .... dan banyak lagi matlamat kecil-kecilan.
4. Bagaimana nak jadi famous macam blog mombloggersplanet
Famous ke MomBloggersPlanet ni..he..he? Rasanya belum popular seperti blog-blog yang lain.. especially kalau compare dengan blog yang wujud sejak bermulanya Blogger atau blog-blog yang kerap mendapat free publisiti di media... Masih sangat jauh nak capai tahap itu.
Pada pendapat saya, sekarang ni nak jadi popular bukan satu benda yang mudah.. kena ada something yang 'umph' kat blog so readers akan sentiasa datang balik ke blog.. dan new readers akan muncul melalui 'word-of-mouth' atau 'stumble-upon'.. maksudnya new reader terjumpa blog anda masa membaca blog lain samada direkomen melalui special entry atau melalui contest.
Lainlah kalau anda adalah seorang artis, anak orang kenamaan, wanita jelita yang bergaya dengan barang branded atau seseorang yang mempunya lifestyle yang unik.. maka tak perlu susah payah walapun baru berblog sebab orang akan terjah blog anda. Sebab manusia ni kan ada sifat ingin tahu atau 'kepochi' yang tebal tentang perkara macam cerita artis, cerita orang kaya berbelanja dan sebagainya.
Lainlah juga kalau anda antara blogger terawal dan menjadi rujukan/inspirasi kepada blogger yang lain. Biasanya sesiapa yang mulakan sesuatu lebih awal akan mendapat liputan publisiti percuma dan dari orang akan menjadikan dia role model.
Jadi, nak jadi popular pada masa sekarang ini memang agak susah sebab dunia blogging ni bukan benda yang asing lagi. Semua orang ada blog.
Sebab semua orang ada blog maka kita kena ada sesuatu yang lain/unik (umph) untuk menjadi popular.
5. Nasihat untuk blogger baru.
1. Tanya diri apa sebab utama anda blogging dan dari situ baru anda boleh jumpa apa tema (niche) utama blog anda. Tema utama itu yang akan menentukan samada blog anda akan jadi unik atau tidak.
2. Jangan sesekali menggunakan hasil tulisan blogger lain tanpa meletakkan credit/link back kepada blog entry yang asal. Itu plagiat namanya!
3. Jangan berharap anda akan mendapat income dari blog anda sekelip mata. Content blog adalah perkara pertama yang ada kena fikirkan. Jika content bagus dan dapat menarik readers, maka income dari blog akan datang kemudian.
4. Jika tujuan anda blogging untuk dapat kawan baru.. jangan sesekali guna background hitam dengan tulisan putih atau lebih teruk tulisan warna pudar seperti light blue, pink dan sebagainya. Bagi saya dan ramai orang, ianya sangat menyakitkan mata.
Gunalah background putih dan tulisan hitam sebab semua orang biasa membaca tulisan berdakwat hitam di atas kertas putih sejak sekolah lagi.
5. Tulis blog anda dengan style anda sendiri. Jangan meniru cara penulisan blogger terkenal semata-mata ingin jadi terkenal seperti mereka.
6. Elakkan terlalu banyak bahasa pasar atau bahasa rocker atau loghat negeri - kecuali tujuan anda cuma nak geng dengan orang-orang yang faham tulisan anda. Kalau tujuan nak ramai readers, gunalah bahasa yang 1Malaysia faham.
7. Jangan menulis sesuatu dengan bahasa yang terlalu ilmiah. Walaupun tujuan kita nak berkongsi pengetahuan professional yang kita ada, tapi tak semua orang boleh faham apa kita nak sampaikan. Sebab terms/perkataan bidang professional ni sangat bombastic sekali. Anda hanya akan mebuat orang yang membaca boring sebab dia tak faham dan tak boleh nak komen apa-apa.
Contoh: Saya seorang akauntan dan ingin berkongsi mengenai personal income tax. Kalau saya tulis secara ilmiah seperti dalam buku teks atau majalah Accountant Today (majalah rasmi Malaysian Institute of Accountant), bukan 1Malaysia boleh faham. Sebab bukan 1Malaysia ada asas perakaunan/percukaian.
8. Kalau anda nak ramai kawan baru, bukalah ruang komen anda untuk semua termasuk Anonymous. Jangan bising kenapa tak ada orang komen blog anda sedangkan anda hadkan pengomen kepada yang ada ID Blogger sahaja. Bagaimana orang yang tak ada blog atau orang yang ada domain sendiri macam saya nak tinggalkan komen.
9. Jangan takut menerima komen-komen yang pedas atau yang mengutuk penulisan anda. Sebab ianya adalah bukti bahawa blog anda ada pembaca. Semua blogger akan dapat komen yang tak enak macam ini. Semakin terkenal seseorang blogger, maka makin banyaklah komen-komen negatif yang dia akan dapat. Tak percaya? Cuba tanya sendiri blogger-blogger yang famous semua tu. Bukan semua pembaca suka mereka okey?
10. Luangkan masa untuk menjawab komen-komen di blog anda. Ini akan menggalakkan pembaca datang balik ke blog anda untuk mengetahui reaksi anda terhadap komennya. Ruangan komen adalah tempat anda berkomunikasi/berhubungan baik dengan pembaca, jadi jangan biarkan komen terutamanya yang berbentuk soalan tidak berjawap.
11. Jika boleh, setiap entry anda mestilah ada gambar yang berkaitan dengan entry tersebut. Jangan lupa letak 'watermark' di gambar kepunyaan anda. Sesekali publish entry tanpa gambar adalah okey tetapi blog yang hanya ada tulisan tanpa gambar adalah sangat memboringkan. Kecuali blog itu memang sudah sedia popular disebabkan kualiti penulisan dia.
